subversive commercial development - ongoing.
The gardenwall office project started as a masterplan for an office development: one planned to accomodate three quarters of a million square feet and be different enough to be hip.
The project was designed as a subversion of commonly held beliefs concerning the common office block: a dismantling of western concepts and defining a tropical monsoon paradigm.
Beyond efficiency, fluid traffic flow and functionality, the offices were conceived for passive cooling, low maintenance and the effects of sun, rain and rapid growth on its outer surfaces;a gardenwall designed not to avoid but to incorporate the weathering of a tropical monsoon climate.
