Two storey bungalow renovation.
The jalan seragam house was an odd wedge of a house from an early hillside development. The renovation took on the form of small touches: steel columns to extend cover over a simple concrete balcony with timber columns framing an entrance verandah below. Timber framed rattan blinds provided good sun shading and a front to the house.
On the inside, bath shelves, bamboo screened wardrobes and an open kitchen completed the design. The steel kitchen, bolted timber wardrobe and exposed pipes, valves and hoses of the bathroom made up the domestic industrial character of the house.
