three storey bungalow.
The black and white house was designed after the old colonial houses built by the british when malaya was a colony.
The research and design of this house focussed on a study concerning the proportions, details and colours which characterize the genre: in spite of the seeming strong identity which governs houses of the type, numerous subtle variations made the search for common elements difficult to pin down.
The product was a careful balance of black, white, concrete and age.
Salvaged clay roof tiles, gloss painted frames, timber beadings, steel, glass walls and raw concrete form the palette of finishes intended to bring unfinish to a freshly built house.
