The glass lobby designed for the louvrebox house had one sliding glass wall for ventilation located on the side of the space. For the reason that a hand rail would visually clutter the glass wall on the side, it was decided that a more creative solution for safety be found on the unsecured edge.
The perforated bench served the dual function of providing a seat for the removal and putting on of shoes while keeping the vertical drop a safe distance away.
