loftoffice

loftoffice.

The loftoffice is a manual single
seater, mid-engined vehicle for
work and research, perched in
the form of a box on top of what
formally was a garage roof. And
it serves as the operational core
for the studies and work done
at the lightwell house.

Set back from the front street,
and by way of steps to an upper
level, the loftoffice consists of a
main space with a worktable,
five chairs for a meeting, and an
armchair for catnaps. A toilet
and bath is located to the rear,
itself an experiment to gauge
the threshold of comfort for
a transparent roof in the tropics
The loftoffice is where building
experiments are performed and
serves as a proving ground for
concepts, ideas and materials
bound to design as it engages
garden tame and garden wild.
