bathshelf #2
stainless steel and
tempered glass.
Bath shelf#2 was conceived
around the domestic clinical
aesthetics of the steel and white
bath, with its structural concept
finding root in that for the system
shelves, with the difference of
slender stainless steel posts in
lieu of the chunky original mild
steel columns. The idea was to
cantilever its wire shelves over a
wet shower area from posts
mounted on a dry shoulder.
With sandblasted glass panes
on its two sides for splash control,
the offset pane facing the shower
side creates a gap for access to
the wire shelves for shampoo and
soap, while maintaining muted
privacy, keeping water where it
should be and finally, presenting
an interesting collage of blurred
cotton towels viewed through its
obscured glass walls.
